5. Riton and Seiji – Computer Juice

With one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long long while this crazy work of art is one very different tune you should hear and see.

4. Gregory Porter – Pretty

A new kid on the block in terms of jazz crooners. Not everybodys cup of tea I know but there’s something about this type of music I really like. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of this kind of wit or something… (couldn’t find a Youtube video or Soundloud clip of this Gregory Porter song so I have it in the playlist box on the right of this page->)

3. Booka Shade – Donut (Interpretation)

A really good tune from an album which is well worth a listen. The new album More! even features a guest appearance from Yello in the track ‘Divine’. Keep away from the single ‘Bad Love’ however, which is just a bad song.

2. Steinski – ChoiceCuts.com relauch Mix

Okay so this is a mix but I thought I’d put this up cause its really important that anybody with an interest in music knows about Steinski. Huge influences on DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, and Fat Boy Slim, Steinski is “probably one of the most influential remix artists in Hip Hop’s vibrant history”. http://soundcloud.com/choicecuts/steinski-choicecuts-com-relaunch-mix

1. Devo are back!!!

Ya so their new album isn’t out yet, some say June 2010, and this isn’t a tune its information, but it gets into this top five because they’re “the band that put the ‘new’ in New Wave”. The website Shockhound.com writes; “Now tentatively scheduled for an early 2010 release, the as-yet-untitled album will feature production and remix assistance from James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and possibly Fatboy Slim and Justice — more evidence of how the band continues to remain relevant in the 21st century”.

Devo are another important band in the development of music and its great to see them back – this video shows how cool they are; they actually have real ideals unlike a lot of new musicians.http://www.shockhound.com/videos/595-interview–devo
